Yes. Ironically I just saw the Mayor walking around with the President on
the tarmac in New Orleans. (Since the Pres says he does read or hear the
news, he probably did not have a clue as to what had transpired on the
radio) Actually W Blitzer on CNN got into synch with the one of the folks in
the congressional black caucus, both critically demandidng why it took three
days to get water, pampers and food to the Superdome.
Bush will probably have to promote - he does not fire anybody - the Director
of FEMA - who seems to be a prime target for ineptitude.
Indeed there's our President taking hugs from black children and mothers.
Promising, etc. If he can neutralize the anger towards him with a couple of
gestures that will be his moment of political genius. It's going to continue
to be so bad, I am not holding my breath. This wound is not going to
conceal so easily.
Personally - here in earthquake country - I am going to restock water and
canned edibles (all organically incorrect) be for the next big one!
