Not wishing to be negative, but a word about the Doctor.
The term The Doctor is short for The Fremantle Doctor, a sea breeze that
comes up from the portside of town and hopefully cools things down a little
late afternoon or early evening during summer. Cricket commentators and
visiting astronauts use the term a lot - but locals? It is one of those
things like a postcard image that visitors take away with them.
When I was in Wagga Wagga, I was warned that only locals called it Wagga
with impunity. Strangers had to give it the full treatment, Wagga Wagga
(which is the local language for 'many crows'). The Doctor is like that -
only in reverse. It is an export, like canned Rottnest sand, or those dinky
Kangaroo warning signs for outback roads sold in souvenir shops in Perth
(and I suspect other Australian cities). To the locals, it's almost an
embarrassment.
Like the snap, Jill, nonetheless.

I remember the Doctor well, & also how the people of Perth I met felt
cold in June (wearing sweaters under jackets etc), while Sharon & I
were sweating (20-22 degrees being warm enough for us)...
