Ah the losses pile up. Just my favorite essayist; a fine fiction
writer, & translator. An amazing true renaissance man, whose insights &
beautifulm prose style will be missed by all who care for such things,
I'm still recommending The Geography of the Imagination (& all his
other collections) to anyone I think is truly interested in the
literary essay as it ideally can be.

We both know the reason why you called
So stop wastin’ time tryin’ to soften up my fall
I know you wanna sweeten up the taste
But if you don’t mind I’ll just take my sorrow straight
