'And actually, that's one of the things that bothers me about LL. For all
his virtues, he doesn't seem to have a notion of the game that goes beyond
merely winning. Of course they all want to win, but the athletes I end up
admiring most want something else as well.'
Ditto here for me Allison. I actually went to the Agassi/Federer game with
fellow friend Jordie Albiston and although it wasn't the best game, both
athletes were extraordinary in different ways - Agassi with that methodical,
obsessive 'day at the office' pratcticality and Federer moving like some
elegant hunting seabird.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm already on my own two feet now (maybe H2
standard at Chatting For Fun, we'll see). Congrats on finishing the novel.
Well done. It will be good to see the new poems, too. Yes, I have a new book
coming out later this year and I am endlessly fiddling with it. Actually, I
was inspired by Federer's grace to try some new work, a bit like the
experimental lineations of the poem Sharon has been sharing here.
