goes online
National Collaborating Centre for
Women's and Children's Health
The National Collaborating Centre for Women's and Children Health
(NCC-WCH) is proud to announce the launch of their website:
www.ncc-wch.org.uk <http://www.ncc-wch.org.uk/>
The NCC-WCH is the first National Collaborating Centre to have its own
dedicated online presence to enable health care professionals and
members of the public to learn more about the Centre's guideline
development programme, and the guideline development process itself.
In a world increasingly dependent upon technology for cost efficiency
and distributed ways of working, the NCC-WCH has additionally designed
resources to facilitate online knowledge exchange between expert members
of guideline development groups who are based across England and Wales.
It is anticipated that these resources will assist the Centre in its
objective to produce the best evidence-based guidelines for women's and
children's health for the NHS.
The NCC-WCH was established in 2001 by a consortium of Partner
Organisations working in the field of women's and children's health,
with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as host of
the centre. It is one of seven National Collaborating Centres funded by
the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) to develop the
clinical guidelines commissioned by the Department of Health for England
and the Welsh Assembly Government.
The NCC-WCH has successfully published guidelines in: Antenatal Care,
Fertility, Caesarean Section and Type I Diabetes in children and young
people; and there are currently seven guidelines under development.
These are: Long Acting Reversible Contraception, Intrapartum Care,
Urinary Incontinence, Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, Urinary Tract Infection
in Children, Feverish Illness in Children, and Diabetes in Pregnancy.
For information about the NCC-WCH, the guideline development programme,
and partner organisations visit the website at www.ncc-wch.org.uk
