Thank you Christine. Overall what do the staff at your unit think of them?

Subject: clip-on side cots
Hi All,
I hope you can help with this! Our Maternity unit brought in the clip-on
side cots a few years ago, but they were not used as staff on the wards
didn't like them. Obviously these are very good for women and their babies
so we tried a different tack. We brought them back again a month ago and
said we were carrying out some evaluation research into the use of them. We
are in the process of collecting the data but we have now received an
'incident form' from a obstetric physio stating that they are a risk for the
women's back with twisting and leaning over to change the baby etc. Do any
of you use these side cots and have you come across any similar problems at
all???
Thanks!
