Dear All
This month's Imagining Radio workshop - held on the last Thursday of each month - will take place on Thursday 25th August between 6-9pm. It will held within the University of London's School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS). The workshop is designed to provide a critical forum for people interested in all aspects of radio research and development to exhange ideas and discuss and develop programmes for future broadcast. A particular emphasis of the IRadio series is to develop new and inventive content of an experimental nature. The approach adopted is open textured and as such a whole range of production concept's and applications are considered.
One of the many projects to have emerged from the workshops is a wireless media research and development programme. Part of this entails the construction and development of a multiple input cross-communications network (Variable Interface Unit). The other part involves a new series of seminars, symposiums amd workshops attempting to examine the future implications of emergining communications technologies.
If anyone on the list would like to either attend this month's Imagining Radio workshop or make a presentation at forthcoming workshops or get involved with the wireless media programme, please email:[log in to unmask]
Many thanks
