Partnerships for Promoting Reading - CILIP Executive Briefing to be hosted at the London Book Fair
Crucial briefing to include speakers from The Reading Agency and BBC Learning, plus marketing consultant for Richard and Judy
CILIP Training and Development, in association with The Reading Agency (TRA), is hosting a half-day Executive Briefing on 15 March focusing on Partnerships for Promoting Reading at the London Book Fair.
Reading is a key theme in the government's Framework for the Future strategy and it is keen to promote libraries, learning and information for the next decade. The Executive Briefing, chaired by Susan Hawker, Chief Librarian West Sussex CC, and including speakers from BBC Learning, TRA's Libraries and Radio Partnership, Random House and a marketing consultant for Richard and Judy, will focus on how public libraries can develop a nation of readers.
The public library is the ideal place to bring reading to people, a principle on which The Reading Agency was founded in July 2002. This Executive Briefing will develop a vision of libraries in the future and how to improve library services through new initiatives.
Full details about the Partnership for Promoting Reading Executive Briefing can be found online at www.cilip.org.uk/training/training/partnership.htm. Alternatively contact CILIP Training and Development on 020 7255 0560.
