I thought that the highest ought to be the height that someone can reach from a wheelchair. Having said that, advancing years (well, maybe not that advanced!) and arthritic knees make it very difficult for me to reach the lowest shelf.

Subject: Height of shelves
Has anyone come across any directives regarding the acceptable height of
library shelves in respect of:
- Health and Safety
- Disabled access?
Many thanks
