Subject: NHS Connecting for Health - NWWM Cluster Update 9 - June 2005
Dear colleagues
We are delighted to attach the new issue of the cluster's Update newsletter. This month you will find the issue packed with exciting features and updates. Here are a few highlights:
Clinical Service Development Programme update and its online recruitment launch
Since its launch in November 2004 the CSDP has continued to involve NWWM clinicians in the design of clinical content for the Lorenzo reference solution. There are now 13 Expert Reference Groups (ERGs) and we have also now published the first phase of our CSDP website www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/regions/west/csdp
Lorenzo website engages NPfIT clinicians
iSOFT has unveiled a dedicated website demonstrating the key features of its Lorenzo product. The demo can be accessed directly at http://lorenzo.isoftplc.com. To register, click on the 'new user' box and follow the instructions.
New Functional Change Requests Process goes live
A new process for managing functional change requests to the P1R1 Reference Solution has been established following consultation with CIOs and CSCA. <http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/regions/west/functionalchange/> http://www.connectingforhealth.nhs.uk/regions/west/functionalchange/
New PAS goes live in South Birmingham PCT
The first NPfIT project in Birmingham and Black Country went live on Saturday 2 April. The new Patient Administration System (PAS) was successfully implemented at Moseley Hall and West Heath Hospitals. Read more in the newsletter about the challenges faced and the benefits gained.
Who's who in the cluster - Mike Barton
This issue we grab Mike Barton, one of our Implementation Managers, for a quick chat about what he gets up to day-to-day.
The newsletter will be sent out to the wider cluster today by our usual distribution methods, but please feel free to forward this email onto your contacts and colleagues .
We hope you enjoy the newsletter. We welcome all feedback or suggestions for features in forthcoming issues. Please contact Anthony Aggett [log in to unmask]
