Someone wrote to me a while ago and tried to sell us an alert system that
sent patients text messages to remind them to take a pill.
I did try to point out that the patients most likely to need the service
were also the most unlikey to use a mobile but it fell on deaf ears.
I think at the time it was intended as a once a day thing for contraceptives
etc.
Maybe I should have considered it before No. 5 child was created?
Off the subject and unconnected, I just came back from the ANSA conference
and saw a demo of a methadone dispensing computer. Brill. Fingerprint
recognition, loads of extras, really clever.
It was so impressive I was almost sad that we never prescribe it.

Subject: [GP-UK] medicine compliance
I'm doing some background research and wondered if anyone had any thoughts
on medicines compliance.
How much of an issue is it in practice? Is it getting better or worse? And
what help, if any, are existing medicine compliance aids?
