Geographical Information System (GIS) Developer required to design and
develop Software Architecture for GIS solution, working closely with Java
and J2EE Developers. Successful candidate ideally requires a minimum of 3-5
years GIS development experience, including design. MapXtreme/MapInfo
experience is ideally required, however we may be able to consider
candidates that have worked with similar products/tools. The overall
project involves the implematation of bespoke web-based applications into
an Oracle Database environment containing large-scale Spatial data. You
will have the ability to assist Business Analysts in gathering and
analysing user requirements and give direction to the development and
design of the GIS element. Skills required: GIS, MapXtreme (or similar),
GIS package implementation and integration. Desirable skills: PL/SQL,
DHTML, Java, J2EE, Struts, XML, ability to champion GIS functionality.
