It looks as though Isabel's email software, Microsoft Exchange
V6.0.6556.0, is (somewhat redundantly) encoding her messages as
"quoted-printable", in which every space is shown as "=20".
Normally this encoding is necessary only when some non-ASCII characters
are present in the message; pound signs and curved quotation marks are
the most common things that require this.
Neil's software, Novell GroupWise Internet Agent 6.5.4, is not
interpreting this encoding properly and converting these codes back to
spaces as it should, but showing the raw encoded text.
A word with the relevant IT people seems to be required, to check that
the software is set up properly.
