> Hello All
Apologies for cross-posting
> The next FISH meeting will be held in the Court Room at the National Museum in Cardiff on 17th October from 10.30am. If you have any agenda items or issues you want raised please let us know by the beginning of next week. We thought it would be useful to take this opportunity to formally let everyone know about recent changes at FISH.
> Jason Siddall stood down as both Convenor & Co-ordinator of FISH in April, after two very successful years which included the launch of the FISH Toolkit, amongst other exciting initiatives. We're sure all FISH members would want to record their thanks to Jason for his tireless work on behalf of the Forum.
> The post has now reverted to it's original form, so we once again have a Convenor from an attending organisation and a Co-ordinator from DSU.
> The new Convenor is Isabel Holroyd of biab online (British & Irish Archaeological Bibliography) for CBA (Council for British Archaeology), and the new Co-ordinator is Emma Turner of the Data Standards Unit, English Heritage.
> Basically, the Convenor is there to:
> * Call FISH meetings
> * Call agenda items
> * Chair FISH meetings
> * Help to organise meetings (with Co-ordinator)
> * Ensure work progress between meetings
> * Co-Manage the FISH JISC Mail list
> * Invite new members to the Forum
> The Co-ordinator is there to:
> * Co-Manage the FISH JISC Mail list
> * Help to organise meetings (with Convenor)
> * Minute FISH meetings
> * Maintain membership lists
> * Maintain INSCRIPTION website
> In short, we're here to facilitate communication and the flow of information for the group. The Forum for Information Standards in Heritage has a very diverse sphere of interest, and we want to make sure that we are capitalising on those wide-ranging interests to create products and initiatives which are truly of use to the heritage sector.
> We look forward to building on all the good work over the past few years and to working with everyone in FISH in the future!
> All best wishes,
> Isabel & Emma.
