ACME, the UK Association for Computational Mechanics in Engineering, was
formed in March 1992 to both promote research in computational mechanics
within the UK, and to establish formal links with similar organisations
in Europe and worldwide.

ISSEC, the Irish Society for Scientific and Engineering Computation, was
formed in the same year to act as a focal point for people with a common
interest in aspects of scientific and engineering computation. Both
organisations are affiliated to the European Community on Computational
Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS).

This year, the annual meetings ACME and ISSEC will be combined and
hosted by the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the
Queen's University of Belfast on April 19-20 2006 . Please note that
this is one day earlier than the dates proposed at the last conferences.

Both meetings offer an annual forum for researchers to present their
developments in engineering computation. The meeting should be
especially suitable for researchers in the early stages of their career
to gain experience in presenting, and to meet others working in related
areas.

You are invited to submit a 1-page abstract for a 15-minute talk at this
symposium. Further details of the call for abstracts for this symposium
can be found at http://www.me.qub.ac.uk/ai06/.

Belfast has become a top UK weekend break destination and is served by
budget airlines from a large number of UK airports, as well as Cork in
the RoI. Travel costs to Belfast will almost certainly be less than UK
mainland rail travel. This is an excellent opportunity for the two
communities to interact in a supportive environment.
