The 30th Annual Conference of the Society for Caribbean Studies
The National Archives, Kew, UK
Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th July 2006
The Society seeks one-page abstracts, accompanied by a one-page CV, by
January 6th 2006 for research papers on the Hispanic, Francophone, Dutch
and Anglophone Caribbean, and on Caribbean disaporas. Papers are
welcomed from all disciplines and can address the following themes. We
also welcome abstracts for papers or full panel proposals that fall
outside the list of topics below. Authors of papers selected for the
conference will be invited to give 20 minute presentations of their work
and offered the opportunity to publish their full papers on the
society's web site.

The Caribbean in world politics

Gendered and ethnic identities
The Society will provide a limited number of bursaries to postgraduate
presenters, which will contribute to registration and accommodation
costs, but not travel costs. Postgraduate presenters should indicate
that they are seeking a bursary when they submit their abstracts. Arts
researchers/practitioners living and working in the Caribbean are
eligible to apply for the Bridget Jones Travel Bursary, the deadline for
which is 15 December 2005.
