For assignments, some send email confirmation, but in general the emphasis is on the student to submit the work. Some students have claimed their work has been lost, but so far, we've only picked up one real case where a file was corrupted on upload. Some lecturers used to use the digital drop box in previous years, and we are now recommending that the drop box is disabled where an assignment has been set up. Some students have put work in the DB when it should have gone into an assignment instead.
>2. Have you experienced any problems with course quotas preventing
>students uploading coursework at deadlines?
no quotas on uploading here at present, however student storage is limited and may become a problem in the future.
>3. Do you have an anonymity principle, and if so, how do you protect
the
>students' identities from the marker when using Blackboard?
Anonymity only applies to certain types of work at present. This hasn't been dealt with but is being raised as an issue.

no obstacles encountered yet for late submissions.
General points - we have a well managed paper system for collating and returning feedback to students at present. This also requires the student to see their personal tutor to get coursework or exam grades. For some, this is the only time they get to see their personal tutees, and so replacing the paper system with the gradebook in Bb will have an impact on face to face contact in some cases. We are currently reviewing how this could be adapted to Bb.
