No - it would be slow when the machine was manufacturing. But you may need it
to move fast for loading and unloading.
You can't print toothed belts directly, but I made a very successful one by
creating an RP mould, laying thread (buttonhole thread, actually...) in it for
tensile rigidity, then casting PDMS to form the teeth and the belt. You can
make it modular so you can glue together as many lengths as you like.
As far as sliders go - no. We'd print the slider supports, and all ancilliary
parts, and then slot in a ground silver steel bar (accurate to 0.01mm, cost:
£0.50 from any good hardware store...) as the actual slider.
