Journal of the Society of Archivists – Editorial
positions
The Editorial Team of the Journal of the Society of
Archivists would like to recruit two new editors. One
editor would lead on the articles section of the
Journal, and the other the reviews section. They would
replace Andrew Flinn and Kate Manning as principal
editors. Andrew and
Kate will remain on the editorial team to provide
assistance and support.
The Journal of the Society of Archivists is a
peer-refereed journal, published by Taylor and
Francis, an imprint of Routledge. It is published
twice a year, in April and October, and is circulated
to Society members and a significant number of outside
subscribers.
The work of editors includes commissioning and
receiving copy, assigning books for review,
co-ordinating the refereeing process, liaising with
authors, preparing copy for press, and reading proofs.
Editorial expenses are provided, as well as funding
for attending the Society's annual conference.
Both posts provide an excellent opportunity to be at
the centre of the professional debates taking place in
the archives, records management and conservation
communities in this country and abroad. Whilst these
posts will be of interest to all those concerned with
the future development of the profession, they may be
worthy of particular attention by participants on the
Society of Archivists' Registration Scheme.
For further information about the posts, please email
Andrew Flinn ([log in to unmask]) or Kate Manning
([log in to unmask]).
Those interested in applying should email their CV
with a covering letter outlining relevant skills and
experience to Andrew Flinn by 30 November 2005.
