As a tourist area we too have heard of problems with visitors
requiring the use of a changing bed.
Because of safety concerns with strangers needing to operate
unfamiliar lifting equipment should a hoist be installed, we have
suggested the installation of a manually operated adjustable height
bed in the toilet at our new Civic Centre.
Thinking that this would not require the use of slings. It may be
lowered to wheelchair height and a side transfer accomplished. It
would also be suitable for use by ambulant disabled people of any
height needing changing assistance.
