my feeling is that a lot of (false) assumptions have been made here by the
developer and would it be too cynical of me to suggest an underlying wish to
cut costs?
You say John that there is 'only' a 25mm upstand - well i believe that is at
least 20mm too much!
there is also no indication of cross-hatch marking to protect the
door-opening / wheelchair handling etc. space that is needed
i believe that the bottom line is that a great deal of thought and
experience went into BS8300, which is not without fault itself and is
supposed to be THE BARE MINIMUM that people can get away with - so if we
allow developers to play fast a loose with minimum specs for whatever reason
it is a very slippery slope.
in brief, i suggest you go ahead and remonstrate good and loud!
