Martha,
I did a short series of interviews with British women scientists in
The Times (of London) in 1995. Also, a friend of mine Dr Fiona Watt
FRS has done a long series of interviews with women cell biologists.
Either might contain something. Email me if you wish to pursue.
regards,
Hugh Aldersey-Williams

My new book is out now!
Findings: Hidden Stories in First-hand Accounts of Scientific Discovery
'Lit-crit'-style deconstructions of great science papers of the 20th
century reveal scientists' true feelings at the moment of discovery.
Find out:
* how Max Planck evaded the implications of his own quantum theory
* how Edwin Hubble and Watson and Crick disguised their lack of
evidence for their bold claims
* how Thomas Morgan and Penzias and Wilson celebrate their elegant
experimental technique
* and why there probably isn't life on Mars.
