Ian Edelman and Mike Ellis have hit the nail on the head - in the first place we should be originating content so that it can be displayed in as many contexts as possible - exhibition panels, web pages, printed material, PDA's, etc. Sustainability and legacy strategy are key to value-for-money calculations.
That said, stamps are tiny, and to display on web pages succesfully you'll need to provide for high res scans and enlargable images. This takes you out of a simple approach of photgraphing the boards, and back to making new html pages or .pdf's.
