Subject: Major Review: Manchester Metropolitan University Self
Evaluation Document
Dear Linda
In David's absence, I would be grateful if you could please circulate the attached MMU self evaluation document to your NHS Librarians for their information and comment. For a number of years, MMU were one of the main education providers of Specialist Practitioner Community Nursing - Health Visiting, District Nursing, Practice Nursing, Community Mental Health and Community Learning Disabilities Nursing programmes for Cheshire and Merseyside PCT's and Mental Health Trusts. They are still being used this year by some of our Trusts to train students who commenced in 2004. In addition, MMU are one of two Institutions delivering Speech and Language therapy programmes within the North West, and a result there will be a number of Cheshire and Merseyside placements affected.
For the purposes of the Major Review, the QAA will be looking at the quality of education delivered over the past 3 years in addition to this year. It is therefore important that our PCT's and Mental Health Trusts have the opportunity to comment upon the statements being made, and identify strengths, weaknesses and good practice that may be missing from the document. MMU will require evidence to support these statements, so feedback from our Trusts is important and can be given by e-mailing Iain Jackson: [log in to unmask]

Subject: Draft of QAA Self Evaluation Document
Dear All in the QAA Major Steering Group,
Attached is a draft copy of the SED for the QAA Major Review. Sincere thanks for your valuable input so far. Could I
also ask that you read through the report and provide some feedback as to your thoughts towards it? All further
guidance and/or suggestions for improvement are welcomed.
With an emphasis on the report still being in it's draft stages, can I also ask that you forward the report to those in
your network of contacts who have helped, or would be able (and willing!) to contribute useful feedback?
However, given that I am trying to keep a record as evidence of wider reading for the SED can I also ask for a brief
list of any colleagues the document is forwarded to?
(NB. If it helps with the distribution of the document to a wider audience, there is also a link to the document on the
faculty website:
http://www.did.stu.mmu.ac.uk/staff/qaa/index.php )
All thoughts can be sent back to me at [log in to unmask]
Unfortunately, given the imminent deadline, any feedback received will become less useful and effective if received any
time beyond the forthcoming week. Apologies that I can not give any longer for a document of this size.
Many thanks,
Iain
