Very good point Malcolm, I didn't think of this. It's a bit of a shame
because the editor is very impressive in my opinion, and highly
configurable. I do wonder if .Net will ever be supported by Linux /
Unix. I know this is a bit of a silly question but it would make .NET
much more universal. I suppose it is a battle of platforms really.
Still maybe worth looking at myself for our install as we are windows
based both server and desktop wise.
If I did implement this kind of solution, I would probably look at using
the block to add multimedia and on system authored content and then
disable the current blackboard text editor system wide. This would lose
the text editor in the discussion, announcements, groups etc but hey, it
seems to be awfully cut down in these areas anyway. It would however
give users the chance to author decent content directly online using
blackboard without all of the glitches and problems that are faced with
the current editor.
I will have to wait and see what app pack 3 brings in the terms of
improved functionality in the visual text editor. Here's for hope, and
if I'm still disappointed I can feel a building block coming on.
Im still wondering why blackboard is listed on freetextbox wiki site for
projects using the editor?????
Cheers
Anthony

Hi Matt and Anthony,
Yes, it would be nice to see the textbox tool improved, but remember if
you go for a .Net solution it won't be available for users running
Blackboard on Linux or Unix boxes...
Malcolm.
P.S. I think some of the Mac problems discussed earlier relate to the
ActiveX controls currently used by the Blackboard textBox tool. This
won't work with a Mac (no ActiveX support).
