Annwyl bawb,
mi welais y gair 'achrediad' ddoe ac, erbyn gofyn, cael gwybod mai 'accreditation' yw'r ystyr i fod. Taer erfynaf arnoch i beidio a defnyddio'r gair. Mae'n ddisystyr ac yn gamarweiniol. 'Ach' a 'rhed' yw'r gwreiddiau.
Cyd-ddigwyddiad yw hi fod cyfuniad o'r ddau yn arwynebol debyg i 'cred' y Saesneg. Dyma enghraifft o gyfieithu diog a disail. Mae'r fath beth yn tanseilio'r iaith ac yn ei llygru yn ddirfawr. Ych-a-fi.

Annwyl a Pharchus Sylvia,
Diddorol iawn! Os clywaf am rywbeth, ti fydd y gyntaf i glywed.
Un peth dy'n croesi fy meddwl .... mae nifer o sianeli lloeren Arabeg ā
stiwdios yn Llundain, a mwy a mwy naill ai'n meddwl am roi isdeitlau Saesneg
neu am lawnsio sianeli Saesneg hyd yn oed. Tybed a fyddai dy ffrind yn
meddwl am roi cynnig ar isdeitlo? Posibilrwydd arall fyddai gwasanaeth
monitro'r BBC yng Nghaversham, lle mae tipyn o alw am bobl sy'n medru
trawsgrifio a chyfieithu yn glau o ddarllediadau cyhoeddus mewn nifer o
ieithoedd - gan gynnwys yr Arabeg.
Yn iach,
Tim

Diolch am y wybodaeth ddiddorol Tim.
Mae gen i gyfaill sydd wedi ei eni a'i fagu yn yr Aifft mewn Arabeg a
Saesneg (ei fam yn Saesnes) ac wedi cael addysg ddwyieithog yn yr Aifft.
Mae o'n chwilio am agoriad i faes cyfieithu ar y pryd, eisoes wedi gwneud
cwpl o gynadleddau yn Llundain fel cyfieithydd gwirfoddol ( ac wedi cael ei
ganmol gan y cyf-ar-y-pryd proffesiynol oedd yno) ond yn gobeithio gwneud
gyrfa ohoni. Mae o mewn tipyn o gylch seithug ar hyn o bryd. Mae o angen
achrediad i gael ei dderbyn ar restrau cyfieithu, ond er mwyn cael achrediad
rhaid iddo fo gael hyn a hyn o brofiad.
Os oes gan unrhyw un wybodaeth, cysylltiadau mewn maes perthnasol byddwn i'n
falch o glywed gennych......
Mae o'n siarad Cymraeg yn dda iawn erbyn hyn!
Hwyl
Sylvia.

Welcome to the Aequitas website
This website has been set up as a result of the Grotius I and II project and
is now continued to lead up to the 2004 conference Instruments for lifting
language barriers in intercultural legal proceedings, which will be held in
The Hague, 18-21 November 2004.
As from 1 May 2004, the EU officially consists of 25 member states. Movement
between these countries will increase and this results in higher immigration
figures, greater migration of labour and more tourism. In the slipstream of
easier movement, legal proceedings become more international. The need to
assist those involved in proceedings in civil or criminal law in their own
language is being recognized by the European Commission. This resulted in
the two previous projects, supported by the Grotius (Criminal) Programme of
the EC.
One of the recommendations of the Grotius II conference in Antwerp 2002
<Grotius_info.htm> was to disseminate the insights and knowledge gained
throughout the EU by means of a follow up project in which practical tools,
such as teaching materials and a handbook of 'best practices' are developed.
Two Dutch institutes for training interpreters and translators decided to
join forces to apply for a grant from the AGIS-programme
<AGIS_application.htm>. This grant was given and an international steering
committee with representatives from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark,
Great Britain, Greece (Cyprus), the Netherlands, Poland and Spain is now
preparing the conference in The Hague. This conference is aimed at
representatives from the legal and judicial services: judges, lawyers,
police officials, government policy makers et cetera.
In the months leading up to November, this website will change. You are
invited to visit this website on a regular basis to find out what is new and
how the preparations are progressing. Please feel free to contact us
whenever you have questions or if you have any information that might be
useful to the project.
The content of this website reflects the authors' views and the Commission
