I am forwarding this since the originator of the message does ask also
for info about upcoming productions of Verdi's Schiller-based operas.
At the end of January there is to be a two-day conference on Schiller at
the Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of London. I
will be giving a paper on Verdi's Schiller-based operas.
JANE (listowner)
Dear all,
I am currently compiling a list of 'Schiller Year' events being held in the
UK next year, for publication in the Newsletter of the German Studies
Library Group. The aim is both to publicise events in advance and to provide
an overview of the kind of events and activities taking place, which may be
of future interest. I would thus be grateful to hear of any such events -
conferences, lectures, exhibitions etc -which members of this list are
involved in or have heard of however small or local they may be. Information
on upcoming productions of Schiller's plays (or of any of Verdi's
Schiller-based operas) would also be gratefully received, as would details
of planned publications, something of particular interest and relevance to
an audience chiefly of librarians! Any information received by the end of
December will make it into the January 2005 issue of the Newsletter.
Many thanks,
Susan Reed
