Call for Contributions
Sage Handbook of New & Emerging Approaches to Management & Organization (provisional title)
Edited by:
David Barry & Hans Hansen
We are inviting proposals for contributions to the Sage Handbook of New & Emerging Approaches to Management & Organization. Past Handbooks have distinguished themselves by offering definitive summaries of mainstream organizational arenas. In contrast, this Handbook will focus on up-and-coming concepts that have the potential to significantly affect the future of management and organization—it will be a ‘prospective’ complement to today’s more retrospective Handbooks. We are casting a wide net—we are looking for new and emerging concepts, theories, methods, perspectives, tools, trends, and shifts within the Management and Organization field broadly defined.
Our hope is to include ‘on-the-edge’ and even controversial management topics that are cropping up in management conferences and a few journals but are not yet treated in mainstream management textbooks. We would like the book to become a standard reference for frontrunners in the field.
Submissions: To begin, please provide a 1-5 page proposal describing an approach that you believe has the potential to make a substantial contribution to the field of management & organization. Somewhere in your proposal, please tell us about:
- Key elements of the approach (concept, method, perspective, tool, trend, shift)
- Why this is important
- How this compares with what’s already out there
- How you think this might affect the future. Where is it going? Where might it go?
Please submit your proposal by January 31, 2005 to:
