Thanks. I've been holding off on that since I was assuming Steve would
want to check things out.
One related comment. Now that we use libtool there is no need to set
LD_LIBRARY_PATH since the path is hard-wired into the binary at link time.
The only system that needs LD_LIBRARY_PATH is gaia because that doesn't
use libtool.
Of course, if someone installs into a tree other than that used to build
it LD_LIOBRARY_PATH will need to be set (is there a way to change the link
path in a binary itself post-linking?)
