Initial Announcement and Call for Papers
The University of Glasgow welcomes the 13th Annual GIS Research UK
Conference in April 2005. Following the successful formula of previous
years, the conference aims to provide an informal and stimulating event
that will bring together new and established researchers from all areas of
GIS theory and application.
Papers are invited on all aspects of GIS, but it is intended to have
special sessions focusing on the following three themes:
• Good governance and GIS
• Data and Information Quality
• Scale issues
Researchers wishing to present papers are invited to submit an extended
abstract of up to 1500 words describing the work, its significance, and a
short list of references. Principal authors should also include a 50 words
biography indicating their stage of career. Abstracts will be refereed and
papers may be accepted for a long presentation, short presentation, or
poster display. Abstracts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word compatible
document, including any illustrations, in the format specified on the
conference website, appearing this week (week beginning 8th November,
2004).
As in previous years, a Young Researchers’ Forum will be held directly
preceding the conference. Concurrently, a Workshop on Topology and Spatial
