British Society of Gerontology
34th Annual Scientific Meeting 2005
14th-16th July
‘Ageing Societies: Critical Perspectives on the Past, Present and Future’
Hosted by Keele University
Keele, Staffordshire, UK
The Programme:
Members of the Centre for Social Gerontology and the Institute of Ageing
at Keele are delighted to be hosting the Society’s Annual Conference.
This year’s Conference is designed to celebrate and reflect a number of
important developments in British Gerontology. 2005 marks the 25th
anniversary year of the journal Ageing and Society and it is also the
third time we at Keele have organised the conference (previous Keele
conferences were in 1995 and 1985). The conference will take a critical
perspective on growing older, and provide new insights into the pasts,
presents and futures of our increasingly ageing societies. Keele
conferences also reflect links with our locality and, this year, we have
a specially developed intergenerational theatre production that will be
performed to an invited audience of both conference delegates and local
people. We hope you will enjoy what will be a very full academic and
social programme!
