What works best with audio-visual stock?
Hi,
I'm the Marketing Officer for Ealing's Library Service, and we're
looking at the best way forward for developing and promoting our DVD and
video stock. This is to increase both loan and income levels. There are
various strategic directions we could concentrate on - providing larger
numbers of mainstream releases (similar to the main commercial rental &
retail outlets, like Blockbusters & WHSmith), or filling a more specific
niche, focusing on quality films from, say, the Art House,
International and Classics categories.
Has anyone found that a particular direction works better for them? We
recognise that your local residential profile may affect this, but any
views on whether the 'Bridget Jones' route is more profitable than the
'Three Colours Blue' route will be most welcome!
Many thanks,
Fiona
