Hi all,
Another cry for help I'm afraid. I am a disabled woman who is also a phd
student. Many of you may know that I'm trying to get to disabled women in
public life by which I mean those active within; government (either local or
national), NGO's, Public Bodies and the Media (including disability Arts).
Well, I've hit an issue. The only women I can think of are part, or linked
to the disability rights movement and I can't get any women who are working on
issues other than disability. My supervisor has said that this need not be
a problem. She said that in fact it may be part of my findings. I can say
that disabled women find it easier to be active in areas of public life
dealing with disability than other areas. This will be fine, she says, as long as
I can say that I have tried all channels open to me to find other disabled
women. She said that I should thus try to contact as many journals and
organisations as possible in order to reach them can you think of any that I should
contact
Also, if you are a disabled woman active in public life would you be willing
to help me. Would you take part in an interview lasting roughly one hour that
will be confidential and from which you may see, and alter the transcripts.
Best Wishes
Victoria Richards,
