Subject: Advice for research
Hi Mark,
Just to introduce myself, my name is Lorraine Boyd, I have just started
a
PhD research programme within the Social Policy and Sociology school
Queens
University Belfast. My interest is within learning disability, I myself
have
dyslexia. I have been involved in working with young people with
Learning
Disability for over 15 years. My focus is empowerment, self-determinism
and
advocacy. My research topic for my PhD is Citizenship and Learning
Disability, and I to date have not found anyone who has conducted a
piece of
research that looks at Citizenship and people with learning disability.
I
would be very grateful if you could make contact to advise me if
yourself or
if you are aware of anyone who has conducted research or written within
this
area.
I appreciate you are very busy and I would be very grateful if you could
take a few moments to advise me on this.
Yours
Lorraine Boyd
