Parenting and Disability: Research, Policy and Practice Agendas
An ESRC-funded seminar for and about disabled parents at the University
of Leicester
SEMINAR 6
Title:
The future of disabled parents research
Date:
Tuesday 14th December 2004
10.30 am to 3.30 pm
Venue:
Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living
5-9 Upper Brown Street, Leicester
This seminar will bring together leading members of the UK disabled
parents' movement, academics, policy makers and practitioners to look to
the future of disabled parents research. It is the last of the seminars,
and we are sure that it will provide a fruitful look forward to the next
phase of research in this area. Speakers currently include:
* Michele Wates (Disabled Parents Network)
* Jabeer Butt (Race Equality Unit)
* Michael Turner (Web-Based Research Forum, Disabled Parents Network)
How do I attend?
Attendance at the seminar is free and lunch is provided (along with some
mulled wine this time around!). The venue is fully accessible and BSL
interpreters will support the event. We should also be able to meet the
travel expenses of all participants. If you are disabled, we should also
be able to meet any child care and personal assistance costs you may
incur (on a first come first served basis). Please ask for more details
when booking. Places are limited and bookings will be made on a first
come first served basis. If you would like to attend seminar 6, please
