Not sure where you are living, but the L'Arche communities are very attentive to this aspect of life in their homes for people who live in and friends/family associated with them. Jean Vanier writes about it in some of his books (like Becoming Human, or Community and Growth) and there are some good stories about it in a nice book called "body broken body blessed' by sue mosteller of L'Arche in canada.
If you go to their international website, you might be able to find one close to you were you could speak with some people in their communities - they really have quite a beautiful approach and practices for it.
