Dear DCers,
The DC-Government WG has been working to develop guidance on the use of DC
(and DC-based schema) for the description of services. Although the need to
describe services in an e-government context is an international
phenomenon, and there is a desire to develop common practice, this need is
clearly not unique to government.
The attached document was circulated on the DC-GOV list shortly before the
Shanghai meeting, and discussed at the DC-GOV session in Shanghai. To
progress the guidance I would like feedback or comment by 17 December. As
well as comment on the draft itself, I would appreciate any references to
initiatives which describe services, especially if using a DC-based
metadata schema.
(See attached file: Service Description framework DC version.doc)
In parallel with this feedback process, we are doing some modelling of the
entities and relationships articulated in the draft.
Regards,
John Roberts
