If you haven't already, you need to rerun configure now that you have
installed the development packages. configure often saves its previous
state so you may need to remove some sort of cache file first. For
maximum chance of success delete your current directory and try again.
If you've already tried this sort of thing then something is badly wrong -
if configure can't even find X!
