Senior Research Fellow/Senior Lecturer (ref. 10816)

We are seeking to appoint two outstanding scholars with international
reputations in the field of modern and contemporary East Asian Studies. You
will join a vibrant, research-intensive environment and play a key role in
the development of the newly established Centre for East Asian Studies. The
Centre is a major cross-faculty university initiative which is at the core
of our ambition to be at the forefront of academic and policy engagement
with this dynamic part of the world.
You will work closely with Professor Ka-Ho Mok who has recently been
appointed as Chair in East Asian Studies and Director of CEAS. It is
expected to make these new appointments at Senior Lecturer or Senior
Research Fellow levels. Applications are invited from suitably qualified
candidates across the full range of social science and arts disciplines. It
is likely that one appointment will be made in the field of contemporary
China and one in the field of contemporary or modern Japanese history
broadly conceived.
