Members who visit the fascinating exhibition (until 10 April ) at the
British Library of "The Wrirter in the Garden" will see in the almost final
section "Closing Time in the Gardens of the West?, a display re Kipling,
in which four items are shown:
1. "The Glory of the Garden"; a version of this poem published by the
Whittington Press with coloured pictures;
2. "The Gardener" short story;
3. "The Graves of the Fallen" written for the War Graves Commission 19919
(I have never seen this, a rarity; described in Livingston's Bibliography
at page 386 but not in Stewart);
4. The Manuscript of the poem "Gethsemane" (showing one line scored out
and rewritten).
Kipling is not however included in the brief Guide to the exhibition.
