Three comments on this thread in relation to current activities of the Joint
Security Policy group
1. We are strongly encouraging VO's to have one and only one membership
database. There have been all sorts of problems with multiple instances of,
for example, the ATLAS VO (LCG, Grid3, NorduGrid)
2. JSPG are working on a document describing how VO's "register" with a Grid
infrastructure, e.g. LCG or EGEE. This will enable you to look up the list
of registered VO's (eventually). Doesn't mean that all sites will support
all VO's of course.
3. If you need to make decisions based on membership of an experiment VO and
being a UK person, for example, this could be done by requiring membership
of both ATLAS and GridPP say (once we get VOMS deployed)
Cheers,
Dave
