There isn't a canned way, largely because it doesn't really need
reversing much. It depends on what you want to undo. You can just
blow away the /xxx directory, then run ./bootstrap --buildsupport, if
that's what you need.
autoreconf (which bootstrap itself calls) will redo any
Makefile.am->Makefile.in or configure.ac->configure transformations
which need done.
The `State FAQs' in SSN/78 might be helpful.
If you can be more specific, I should be able to say how to undo stuff,
or whether it doesn't need undoing.
