As part of an MSc course, I am currently researching into the impact of EDM
/ ERM systems, and use of e-records within organisations and its impact upon
the records management function with a veiw to presenting a future model for
an RM function. I would really appreciate it if any of you would be able to
spare a few minutes to provide me with insight into the impact of e-records
environments upon:
-your roles - has it changed significantly? What do you do differently now
from when you were a more paper-based environment, has your RM function
changed fom centralised to decenralised or vice versa, what impact has this
had on the profile or RM in your company?
-employees in your company in general - do they have more or less
responsibility for good RM - do they understand the impact of e-records?
- what have been your biggest challenges and successes?
- also what sector do you work in - private company, public body, small /
large organsiation, highly regulated or not?
I will collate and anonymise findings so that I can use this as a benchmark
and identify examples of the good, bad and ugly (all anonymised of course).
Please respond directly to me off-list. I will then collate all findings
and ensure anyone who expresses an interest in the results gets to see them.
