Senior Lectureship in Sociology at the University of
Limerick, Ireland
The University of Limerick is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in
Sociology, with a particular focus on the Sociology of Health and Illness.
The post is tenable from 1st February 2005 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
This post, in the newly created Department of Sociology, affords an
excellent opportunity for an energetic and suitably qualified sociologist
with leadership potential. It also offers scope to develop a programme of
research and post -graduate work. The person appointed will have a doctorate
in Sociology and considerable achievements in the Sociology of Health and
Illness, including an established publications record and appropriate
lecturing/supervisory experience at undergraduate and post graduate level in
Higher Education.
The appointee will have special responsibility for the development of
courses for the health professions including nursing studies. He/she may
also be involved in the development and delivery of other courses at
graduate and undergraduate level, particularly in the Sociology of Health
and Illness. The post is not tied to the administrative position of Head of
Department
Salary Scale: E 64,427-E 84,891
