Dear List Directors,
Please convey the following information to your respective list members
(with apologies for cross-posting):
CALL FOR PAPERS
58th Annual Kentucky Foreign Language Conference
University of Kentucky
Lexington
21-23 April 2005
We invite short abstracts for eventual 20-minute papers on all areas of
Italian Studies:
Language, Linguistics
Literature
Film Studies
Cultural Studies
Pedagogy
Philology
The Call for Papers has been mailed to many individuals and institutions.
Deadline was stated as Nov. 15, but I will accept abstracts until Nov. 30.
The University of Kentucky boasts over 30,000 students across the full
range of disciplines. The campus is a beautiful setting within a historic
small city that dates back two centuries. Lexington is known as the "horse
capital of the world" because of the long tradition of horse-breeding in
this area. There are many activities for visitors and fine restaurants abound.
Special events for Italianists include a viewing of the new documentary
film "Prisoners Among Us: Italian American Identity and World War II",
presented by the Associate Producer and followed by a question/answer period.
We are also working on hosting an Italian play, to be performed by students
from another American university Italian program.
For details about the conference and up-to-the-minute postings, see the
conference website:

Italian Studies abstracts should be sent directly to me at the address(es)
shown below. I welcome your submissions.
