Subject: Anyone up for a fight at the Royal Albert Hall?
Handbags at dawn time, girls!
How about this from today's Daily Telegraph?
"Sir Adrian Cadbury has criticised companies that establish corporate social
responsibility policies simply to placate special interest groups.
He will argue at a debate at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday, organised by
the Royal Society to celebrate its 250th anniversary that in many cases
society would be better off if such companies ignored the campaigners and
concentrated on making a profit."
Difficult to believe that Sir Adrian could talk like this: after all he is
from a well known Quaker family, a major figure in the business world and
chair of the Cadbury Report on corporate governance of 1992 ... did he
really say that or has he been mis represented?
Read the article, share it with your students and make them reply to him:
make him clarify his position. Secret: I have scanned this article and if
anyone would like to read it ...
Let's all gather outside the Royal Albert Hall and flour bag to old geezer!
