Dear All,
On 17 December I am organising a curtain-raiser to the 50th anniversary of
ITV, in Senate House, London University (behind the British Museum). This
one day conference will focus on the problems of writing the history of
broadcasting, and will present a huge array of new research, including the
ITN Online project (600 hours of news material available to education at no
charge); the TV Times Database (all London area programmes from 1955 to
1984); the results of the AHRB research project on 'Did ITV Revolutionise
British TV?', and papers on Robin Hood, Upstairs Downstairs and TWW.
Here is the draft programme. I hope you can make it
