italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Please forgive the cross-posting; this was sent by Nicola Gentili on his list of members of the AAIS. Given the theme of this publication, might there not be someone in the British Isles who could broaden the scope of the enterprise?-- George Ferzoco, list owner, italian-studies

Edizioni Farinelli, a small publisher of Italian language teaching
materials, seeks additional contributors for its upcoming three-level
Italian reader program entitled "Non soltanto un baule." The books
contain human interest stories written by descendants of Italian
immigrants who migrated to the United States, Australia, Argentina and
Canada.
The books are designed to enable students at either beginning,
intermediate or advanced levels to enhance their reading comprehension
while acquiring an understanding of the struggles that millions of
Italian immigrants experienced in their determined quest to forge a new
life outside of Italy.
The publisher seeks stories of 1000 words in length that are moving and
colorful while richly capturing the emotions and the sense of pride and
heartbreak of each immigrant's experience. Each contributor whose
story is accepted for publication will receive credit in the book and
five free copies.
Dott.ssa Concetta Perna, Italian language professor at the University
of Sydney, is editing the books. If you have interest in contributing
a story, or know of someone, please contact either: Concetta Perna

Thank you again for all of your help. We received such a wonderful
response to the initial request that we have expanded the project to
three books so we can reach students at all levels of their studies.
Thus the need for more contributors. Separately, do you know if there
is a comparable list-serve for Canadian Italian teachers? We would
like to uncover a few more contributors who can provide stories of
Italian immigrants to Canada.
