Hi Steve,
looks like your version of m4 is broken, get it fixed, or better still
stop using it and use the thirdparty version. Looking at the log I'd say
try removing /usr/local/bin from your PATH, before starting the bootstrap.
Alternatively setting the M4 variable to someother (non-working) m4 may do
it.
BTW, the list of flags I currently use for Solaris follows:
setenv FC f77
setenv F77 f77
setenv CC cc
setenv CXX CC
setenv FPP fpp
setenv FPPFLAGS "-P -fixed"
The FC/F77/CC/CXX ones should only be needed if you have gcc/g77/g++
installed, as they are picked by first. Clearly we need a README.Solaris
to highlight these kind of platform details.
