Both CONVERT and KAPPA had generic source for these routines. The
CONVERT ones came from the KAPPA originators, because KAPLIBS didn't
exist until some years later. Makefiles didn't expand the generic
source, and so it may appear in the released KAPPA as if these didn't
come from generic source after David took over KAPPA.
